👋 Hi there! I’m Sai Ma, a UX designer and an accessibility advocate. With a solid 6-year practice in design, I have spent the past 4 years focusing on UX/UI. During this time, I have had the privilege of collaborating with renowned companies like Expedia Group and Alibaba Group, as well as the design agency Gensler. I've also helped three startups bring their products to market, from concept to launch. These diverse experiences have given me the ability to meet the unique needs of various user groups while balancing business goals.
👩💻 My mission is simple: I want to make technology easy and fun for everyone. In my latest project with Expedia Group, I took on the challenge of reimagining the keyboard experience for booking hotels on map. This new design has elevated the SUS score from 19.7 to 82.2 and achieved full compliance with relevant WCAG 2.2 AAA criteria.
🎓 Beyond my professional commitments, I am currently enriching my expertise through the Human-Centered Design & Engineering (HCDE) Master’s program at the University of Washington. New skills I learned include:
• Accessibility & Inclusive Design: Co-design a sound detection tool with/for d/Deaf and hard-of-hearing participants
• Qualitative Research: Study non-native English-speaking college students' ChatGPT experiences and expectations via diary studies, focus groups, and co-design
• JavaScript: Code a iPad game for toddlers
💖 Outside the digital canvas, I love handcrafting and exploring different cultures. I'm also a proud mom to a 2-year-old girl and a 6-year-old tabby cat.
👉 If you share my enthusiasm for design or simply want to connect, I'd love to hear from you!
